There’s this place. Way out west. Somewhere down south. Out there in the desert and lost. In this place, there’s a bar… a kinda cantina… only like you never seen before. And in this place there’s mostly only carney folk, dancers and phantoms and all of those freaky types that live on the edge of this world and the next. And there’s singin’, dancin’, actin’, shoutin’, and… well… you get the picture. But this place ain’t always lost. Sometimes it’s found, and when it finds you, you become a part of it, a part of the ceremony.

                        A carnivalesque phantasmagoria

Copperdollar is inspired thematically by the Celtic festival Samhain and the Mexican Day of the Dead. It celebrates life, whilst exploring the issues of death. It looks at ways of dismantling demons and playing with proximity to the afterlife. Its primary creative impetus lies in the interrelationship between the origins of theatre, religious ritual and public spectacle.
